Little Elm EDC Seeks Volunteers for Two Positions

The Little Elm Economic Development Corporation is seeking eligible individuals to fill the two positions that will be coming open this September.

The Economic Development Corporation is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation that provides leadership and vision for the economic future of the Town of Little Elm. The EDC is charged with attracting new commercial business, new tourism opportunities, and new jobs to Little Elm. Our mission is to advance economic development in Little Elm while capitalizing on our lakeside character and sense of community.

Members of the EDC board are entrusted with the task of recruiting, retaining, and entering into legal agreements with firms, companies, organizations, and enterprises that serve to increase the local tax base and create jobs within Little Elm.

Interested individuals must have been residents of Little Elm for a minimum of one year, be of high moral character and willing to devote time, effort and energy to the position, willing to attend regularly scheduled meetings (typically on the second Monday of every month at 6 p.m.), and must agree to serve a full term. Graduate of CGA (Citizens Government Academy) is preferable. Applications of individuals not chosen for a position on the Board, Commission, or Panel are kept on file for one year in the event a vacancy occurs in one of the panels.

Deadline for submitting applications for consideration is 5 p.m., Thursday, August 22. Individuals who qualify for consideration will undergo interviews with a panel which includes the Mayor Pro Tem, a member of the Town Council, and the EDC President. Interviews will be held on Tuesday, September 3 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Each qualifying applicant will be notified of their specific interview time by Human Resources staff.
