Little Elm ISD is pleased to announce Rick Martin has joined Little Elm ISD as the Executive Director for Construction and Operations.
Martin has spent the last five and a half years with Dallas ISD as a project manager and with bond construction services. During his time at DISD, he was responsible for overseeing 80 or more construction projects that included new schools and additions to existing schools. Recently, he was part of the Innovation and Transformation team that developed DISD’s CityLab High School, a five-story transformation campus in Downtown Dallas.
Before DISD, Martin spent three and a half years at Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD where he was responsible for the building of a new Career and Technology Center, high school, and elementary school. Prior to public education, Martin has more than 30 years of experience managing all aspects of project development, design/programming, construction and renovation, for extended-stay and limited service hotels with major U.S. hotel companies.
“I am looking forward to the slower pace Little Elm ISD has to offer while remaining hands-on with the development of future construction projects in this district,” said Martin.
Grant Anderson, associate superintendent and CFO, said Martin will be overseeing the construction of the two new middle schools and other capital projects. “He has an extremely high level of knowledge in every aspect of construction of schools and facilities. Adding him to our construction team is going to strengthen what we already have in place,” said Anderson.
