Little Elm ISD Announces New Roles

Little Elm ISD is pleased to announce Cecelia Jones in her new role as Director for Communications. Jones has served in the Communications Department at Little Elm ISD since 2014 as Specialist, Coordinator, and Assistant Director.

 

Before her professional experience in education, Jones spent more than a decade in television news as a specialty reporter. She is twice Emmy-nominated for her work while employed with the NBC affiliate in Lubbock. She made the switch to the classroom in 2008 and spent six years as an Audio/Video Production teacher at Frenship High School in Wolfforth, near Lubbock. 

 

Jones joined Little Elm ISD in 2014 and has been instrumental in launching a new district website, rolling out the mobile app, improving District communications, recruiting national and local media for story coverage, and showcasing her ability to shoot and edit videos for the District. Her work at Little Elm ISD has earned Best of Show award medals through the Texas Schools Public Relations Association. 

 

“Cecelia is incredibly talented and we are excited to have her leadership in the Communications Department,” said Daniel Gallagher, superintendent. “Her extensive experience coupled with her dedication to Little Elm ISD makes her the perfect choice to lead the Communications department.”

Cleota Epps pictureCleota Epps will continue to serve as the chief human resource officer for the District under the title of Assistant Superintendent for Human Resource and Student Services. Epps joined Little Elm ISD in 2004 and has served in a variety of roles over the years including secondary teacher, campus administrator, and central office support. She has spent the past five years as a leader in the Human Resource Services department. 


Prior to joining LEISD, Epps was the founder and CEO of International Language, Inc., Apple Valley, MN. Epps holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas and a Bachelor's degree in French and Spanish from St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota. Epps and her husband of 31 years have two daughters, both Little Elm graduates, who have gone on to complete their graduate work and are now pursuing careers.


“Her leadership within the Human Resources department has helped Little Elm ISD attract the highest quality and caliber of employees” said Daniel Gallagher, superintendent. “Cleota has a passion for supporting the teachers and staff of Little Elm ISD and is dedicated to helping Little Elm ISD become THE Destination District.”
