Little Elm ISD District College Readiness Coordinator wins money to give to a LEHS Student

Brown wins Scholarship award

One lucky student will be the recipient of a $500 scholarship to Stephen F. Austin University for the fall of 2018. District College Coordinator Keisha Brown was awarded the scholarship this week when she attended a counselor workshop hosted by Sam Houston State University, Lamar University and SFA. During the workshop, more than 50 counselors are invited to attend from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and beyond to learn updates and changes in regards to financial aid, admissions, costs, and scholarships.

Out of those who attended, only one winner was selected. "I never win anything," said Brown. "When they called my name, I couldn't believe it. I am privileged to serve the students of Little Elm High School! This money will allow me to make someone's day who plans to attend SFA next fall."

Brown said SFA is a popular university among LEHS students. Brown will select a recipient in June.
