Board of Trustees Calls for Bond Election on Nov. 7

Bond 2

Dear Lobo Community,

If your household is like mine, you’ve been busy getting your kids ready to go back to school. Whether your child has been finishing a summer reading assignment, organizing school supplies in their backpack, or asking you to take them shopping for new school clothes, the back-to-school season is definitely upon us. We hope you and your child are as excited as we are to begin the 2017-2018 school year. This year will provide the opportunity to build new relationships, engage in challenging learning experiences, and explore fun activities.

Just as you’ve been preparing for the first day of school, the Little Elm ISD Board of Trustees has been making preparations for our District as well. The Board has thoughtfully and strategically studied growth projections, facility needs, community input, and a recommendation from our Long-Range Facilities Planning Committee. Equipped with all of this information, the Board took action at its meeting last night and called a bond election for November 7, 2017.

The bond package is designed to address growth, provide for campus renovations, create equity among aging facilities, fund new extracurricular/athletic facilities, expand our CTE programs, update safety systems and infrastructure, and refund existing debt. To explain each of these areas in more detail, I will be scheduling community meetings in September to present information about the bond proposition and answer any questions you may have.

In addition to the community meetings, we will share information with you in our parent communications, social media, and bond website ( www.littleelmisdbond.net). It’s important to me that you’re well informed and have the information you need to be an educated voter.

Thank you for helping your child prepare for the 2017-2018 academic year, and thank you for helping Little Elm ISD fulfill our mission to Engage, Equip, and Empower!

Sincerely,

Daniel Gallagher
Superintendent
